Professor Dong-yeol Shin received a B.S. in electronic engineering from Sungkyunkwan University in 1980, a M.S. in electricity and electronics engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1982, and a Ph.D. from 1992 in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Shin has been a professor at SKKU since 1994. Before that, he worked as a research engineer for Daewoo Heavy Industries and Samsung Data Systems. He was dean of the College of Information and Communication Engineering from 2006 to 2014. From 2017 to 2018, he was the director of SKKU Institute of Convergence. In 2019, Prof. Shin was inaugurated as president of SKKU.
